Google Pigeon launch in 2014. Pigeon is local search algorithm. A new algorithm to provide more useful, relevant and accurate local search results. Google stated that this new algorithm improves their location based ranking parameters.

Google Hummingbird is paying more attention to each and every word in a query, because it ensures that the whole query — the whole sentence, rather than particular words. Google Exact Match Domain launched in September 2012 to prevent poor quality sites from ranking well simply because they had words that match search terms in their domain names.
